Resort fee data and charts, free to use

Everything here comes from our Resort Fee Report: 1,774 US hotels’ own websites, each fee recorded in the hotel’s own words with the link and the date, checked through 20 September 2026. Use any of it with credit and a link.

The findings

  • 87% of the 494 hotels whose own website said either way charge a resort fee (431 hotels).
  • The median stated fee is $35.00 a night, before tax.
  • 63 hotels state on their own website that they charge no resort fee.
  • The highest stated fee is $70.00 a night, at Fairmont Grand Del Mar in San Diego.
  • 19 hotels name a second mandatory charge beside the resort fee, and 34 attach a condition to it.

How to quote the headline

Please write “87% of the hotels whose own website said either way”, not “of hotels”. The websites of 1,280 of the 1,774 hotels we read said nothing about a fee, or would not load for us. They are in no figure: not counted as charging, and never as “no fee”.
